The following individuals were indicted on April 7, 2021 on felony charges by a Madison County Grand Jury. The indictments are listed below: • Jennifer Roll: Possession of Controlled Substance (Metham phetamine) • Justin Taylor: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) • Cassie Daywitt: Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle • Ostin Ruiz: Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) & Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility • Michael Blevins: Possession of Controlled Substance (Ketamine).

Access repair manuals, recall information, and suggested maintenance for your particular vehicle at no cost. The Chilton database has information for the most popular cars, trucks, and SUVs on the road. You can find manuals dating from 1901 to 2021, so there is a plethora of useful information within the Chilton Library.

TOP GUN

Cap: James Parker and family has loaned a 10-gauge, double-barreled, double-triggered shotgun that was produced in the late 1800s to the Madison County Museum and was put on display Thursday. Parker’s grandfather originally acquired the gun around 1900 when he traded a mule for it and it was used for killing wild game, a large portion of the family’s food supply at the time. Included under the gun are plaques explaining its history as well as plaques of their father and grandfather. PHOTOS BY CAMPBELL ATKINS

LAVONNE HICKS BURK

LaVonne Hicks Burk, 85, was a member of the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church and a long-time resident of Madisonville, Texas. She was born to William Perrington “Perry” Hicks and Thelma Mae (Wilson) Hicks on August 30, 1935, in Bryan, Texas, as Pansy Lavon. She was at Life Care Hospice, in Wooster, Ohio, when her heavenly Father called her home on November 27, 2020.

Local ropers gathered

Local ropers gathered at Cross Roads Cowboy Church in Madisonville Thursday for a number eight roping followed by a number 13 slide roping. Another roping event will take place at Cross Roads this coming Thursday and include the “Fully Loaded” food truck on site. PHOTOS BY CALEB HOLDEN
