The Madisonville golf team advanced to the Regional Tournament with a second place finish at the district golf tournament April 1. Regionals will be held April 19-20 at the Raven Nest Golf Course in Huntsville.

Running back Cornelius Merchant was a valuable backup for the East Texas Baptist University football team this spring. In his first season with extensive repetitions, the Madisonville High School graduate finished second on the team with 114 rushing yards and sixth with 116 receiving yards in compiling a career season.
