In a commissioners court session held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Madison County officials listened to a presentation on technological infrastructure and supported some local community events.

A 35-year-old man facing felony charges, including sexual assault of a child and prostituting a minor, could face trial this spring, according to court documents. A status hearing for Shawn Allen was held Monday at the Madison County Courthouse, part of the 12th District Judicial Court, with a trial set for April or May.

A fatal shooting on 2007 E Main Street early Saturday, Feb. 24, has resulted in the death of one woman and left a man injured, the Madisonville Police Department reports.

At Juarez Tax and Services, the Juarez family journey started a little over 30 years ago, when Armando Juarez became a senior tax consultant at one of the largest franchises, for many years. Around 2006, Armando began showing his son, Micheal, the ropes of the business.

On Thursday, Feb. 15, the students at Madisonville Elementary participated in the Kid’s Heart Challenge, an event that benefits the American Heart Association.

The following persons were arrested or booked into the Madison County jail on Sunday, Feb. 18, through Sunday, Feb. 25. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
