The Madison County Juneteenth Organization will kick off its 2025 celebration with a carnival-style summer festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 20.

A former Madisonville resident who served as commander of Austin Reed American Legion Post 84 will be posthumously honored at a national memorial in Washington D.C. on June 14 for Vietnam veterans who died from service-related illnesses.

The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees welcomed four members and reorganized its leadership during the Monday, June 9 meeting at the Administration Board Room. Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Miranda Butts administered the oath of office to Quincy Allen, Randi Pipes, Jason Cleere and Dale Hurst after all four ran unopposed for their positions.
