Madisonville’s Lazy 8 Flight School is becoming a saving grace in the aviation industry. Founded by Wanda Collins, a veteran pilot with 37 years of experience, including 24 years with major airlines like United Airlines, aims to make her flight school more accessible and affordable.

The City of Madisonville has put out a Citizen’s Survey, encouraging all who live within Madisonville’s city limits to participate. The survey asks city residents about a variety of topics, including street maintenance, quality of the downtown square, animal services and the quality of their police services.

AUSTIN — TxDOT is raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking and working with other state agencies to help stop this horrific crime. During National Human Trafficking Prevention Month in January, TxDOT is continuing its “On the Road to End Human Trafficking” campaign and working with other state agencies through the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Coordinating Council and the Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force.

Madisonville Mustangs boys' basketball team (3-16) is on an 11 loss streak as of Tuesday, Jan. 16.

As of last Friday, Jan. 12, the Lady Bulldogs have become first in district play, beating Calvert, who forfeited the match, and Richards. On Tuesday, Jan. 9, Calvert forfeited to the Bulldogs, securing a win for the Ladies, but on Friday, Jan.

The Lady Mustangs (20-4) have kept their position in district play, becoming second behind Jacksonville. The Lady Mustangs played against the Palestine Wildcats on Tuesday, Jan. 9, winning the match by a score of 49-31, coming out strong and maintaining a twowin streak.

Currently, the North Zulch Bulldogs are fourth in the district with a range of 3-2 after suffering two losses at the hands of Calvert and Richards. The Bulldogs played the Calvert Trojans on Tuesday, Jan.
