MCSO RECEIVES TWO UNITS

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) recently received two donated patrol units from the Sam Houston State University Police Department. MCSO Patrol Sergeants as well as two MCSP Deputies are Sam Houston State University alumni. Editor’s Note: “Opinions in this column are not representative of the views of The Madisonville Meteor.” Do the kids know how to get out of the house should it catch on fire? Do they know not to spend time hunting the family pet? On the other hand, if there is a community alert, has one of them been assigned to bring the family pet indoors? September is known as National Preparedness Month, a grassroots campaign that is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Each month has a different theme designed to encourage individuals and communities to prepare now and thus remove the surprise when problems arise.

Madisonville's Son-Shine Center Faces Urgent Need

The Son-Shine Outreach Center, a vital resource for the community, has issued an urgent appeal for essential items. A recent Facebook post on the Sonshine Center page revealed that the pantry is currently depleted of critical supplies, including deodorant, shampoo, toilet paper, body soap, and feminine napkins, after serving over 700 clients in August.
