He did not want to leave us, but he was in the military and orders are orders. He put on his uniform and picked up his bags and started out the door. As he walked out, he turned around and his parting words were, “I will either come and get you or you all will come and meet me”. That event reminds me of something In the Bible. God has made over 5000 promises both good and bad. For those that have chosen to ignore or reject Jesus Christ their future after death is already determined. They will never be allowed into the new heaven and earth that God is going to make, and they will spend forever in a place of great suffering and torment. That place is mentioned 167 times in the Bible, and it is called Hades, Gehenna, the pit, the Abyss or the place of everlasting punishment, (2 Thessalonians 1:9, Matthew 5:30, 10:28, 2 Peter 2:4, revelation 20:14). For all those who have asked God to forgive their sins and put their trust in what Jesus Christ did on the cross for them there will be great rewards. It was a year before we saw our father again, we went to see him and yes, he was there waiting for us. Wow what a happy reunion and it will be even greater for those that have accepted Jesus Christ, (John 14:3, 6:39, Matthew 10:32,33, 11:28).
