This coming Sunday

Body
Many times, they have to work long hard hours and in difficult and dangerous situations. They did not ask for the job but God especially designed them for it. I am talking about fathers and this Sunday will be Father’s Day. Mrs. John B Dobbs proposed the idea and Father’s day was first celebrated on June 19, 1910 in Spokane Washington. She did it to honor her father who raised her and her five brothers and sisters all by himself. Today over 36 countries around the world celebrate it on the third Sunday in June and many other countries on different days. Maybe we could do something special for our Fathers this Sunday like a card, call gift or a simple, “Thanks Dad” or “Dad I love you”. Wives showing respect to their husband and children honoring their father, (Colossians 3:18 & Ephesians 6:2) can really make him feel good. Many times, it is difficult for a husband or father to say, “I love you” but they will prove their love by working extra hours to provide for their families. They prove their love just as God proved His love in sending His only son to die for us, (John 3:16 & Romans 5:8). May we never take them for granted. Fixing their favorite breakfast or bringing them a cup of coffee or taking them out to dinner might not be a bad idea.
