When Madison County Judge Tony Leago was released from the hospital last week, he returned home to find this welcome sign displayed in the front of his yard. While the individuals who were responsible firsthand for orchestrating the act wished to remain anonymous, they did state there were almost 100 people who wanted to do something to welcome the Judge home. Ultimately, they preferred to be publicly referred to as “friends and supporters” of Judge Leago. The sign itself was created by Laci Anderson, who owns a yard art business. LACI ANDERSON

The Madisonville men’s basketball team returned to the court after a brief hiatus to open district play Friday and downed Connally, the no. 9 ranked team in 4A, by a score of 62-60 at MHS. The Mustangs remained home Monday and improved to 2-0 in district with a 63-39 win over Robinson.
