LOST AND FOUND Two Angelina County game wardens responded to a call about a lost hunter in Angelina National Forest. Upon arrival at the scene, the wardens found out the man had been missing for several hours and was a diabetic.
COVID-19 testing comes to Bedias

COVID-19 testing is being offered at the Bedias Civic Center today and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing will continue on Monday to Wednesday and again on Dec. 28 to Dec. 30, also 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. No appointment is needed for the cheek-swab test. You are requested to stay in your car for the drive thru testing at no charge, please bring photo ID.
County jail to get new phone, payment service

The Madison County jail will switch its inmate phone service to one offered by Crown Correctional Telephone of Clifton, Texas that will also provide a new method to pay bonds or add commissary money and inmate’s account, as well as allow inmates themselves to order items from the commissary and pay through the system.
Madisonville soccer squads prepare for season

Both Madisonville soccer teams participated in their first competitive action last week with preseason scrimmages. Both the men’s and women’s squads are slated to begin their regular seasons with matches against Huntsville Jan. 5.
Officials investigate bomb threat at American Glass & Mirror

An individual with a deep, male voice called in a bomb threat to American Glass & Mirror on May Street in Madisonville Dec. 9, resulting in a thorough and immediate investigation on-scene by local law enforcement officials.
