National School Breakfast & Lunch Program

North Zulch announced today it will continue to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program at all campuses for the 2024-2025 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.

Toddler’s fall, brain injury rallies family and friends

There is no greater heartache for a parent than a tragedy befalling their child. Madisonville couple Angelique and Pedro Guillen are living their own personal nightmare in what has become their home- awayfrom- home at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Houston Medical Center. Sunday, June 2, their now 20-month-old son Isaac sustained a traumatic brain injury in what is believed to be an attempt to climb into, or a fall from, the bed of his father’s pickup truck.

Commissioners court convenes for first time since Starr resignation

This commissioners court meeting Tuesday, June 11, signified the first meeting for Steve Parrish, now commissioner over Precinct 1, after the formal resignation of Ken Starr. The first discussion on the action item side of the agenda was the abolishment of the Salary Review Committee and the removal of all references to it from the Madison County Personnel Policy, effective immediately.
