Drivers urged to be alert as school begins

Millions of Texas children are heading back to school this month, as early as this week in some districts. The Texas Department of Transportation urges drivers to be especially alert and focused when driving in school zones and near bus stops. Drivers are further reminded that a new Texas law requires drivers to stop and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, according to TxDOT.

Survey shows low teacher moral

Body
TSTA survey indicates a record 70 percent of teachers on the verge of quitting as educator morale sinks; political attacks, pandemic, years of state neglect to blame A record 70 percent of teacher-members surveyed by the Texas State Teachers Association said they were seriously considering leaving the profession as they ended a difficult school year last spring. The number was the highest ever recorded in the teacher moonlighting and morale survey, which has been tracking Texas teachers’ concerns for more than 40 years, and it was a significant jump from the 53 percent who expressed similar feelings the last time the survey was conducted in 2018.

Getting dirty wool clean

Body
My wife’s family had been in the sheep and goat business for several generations and her dad even had a world champion ram at one time. They raised fine Rambouillet sheep which have very fine wool for making beautiful clothing among other things. The sheep were imported from France in the 1800s. They are strong, produce well, raising lambs that are very good to eat. They grow and produce wool but there can be a problem. A grease (lanolin) is on the wool. To rub up against them or handle them you get the grease (lanolin) on you and it is very hard to get off. So how do they make that dirty greasy wool clean and white? By soaking the wool in hot water and soap can make it come out clean free of the grease and dirt. The result is snow white wool. Thinking about wool reminds me of something in the Bible. First it says we are dirty before God because of sin, and we all have sinned, (Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:5&6). Unless something is done about our sins we will never be allowed to dwell with God, (John 8:24, Acts 3:19). The only way our sins can be forgiven is by trusting in Jesus Christ and by what He did on the cross, (John 1:29, Isaiah 1:18). Only then can we have fellowship with God, (John 1:12,5:24, Revelation 3:20).
