The Madisonville baseball team finished third in district after dropping Saturday’s seed-determination matchup against Robinson in Cameron by a score of 3-2. The loss means they will take on Hudson (Lufkin) in a Bi-District playoff series this weekend.

Consistency has been a mark of Ashlyn Teran’s college softball career. Previously at Bellevue University (Neb.) and now at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, the Normangee High School graduate has excelled offensively and defensively.

Madisonville golfers competed in the Regional tournament for the seventh straight season and recorded a top-ten finish in Huntsville April 19-20. Sophomore Matthew DeBoisblanc finished as the fourth medalist and fifth overall, missing a state qualification by just two strokes. Other competitors for the Mustangs included Mason Railsback, Cameron Thrower, Daniel Bodenhamer and Cade Colwell. The Madisonville baseball team dropped a pair of matchups to their top district opponents over the week with an 8-5 loss to Robinson April 13 and a 6-0 loss to China Spring on the road Monday. The latter matchup was originally scheduled to take place Friday, but was rescheduled due to weather.
