All gas, no breaks for China Spring as they took down the Madisonville Lady Mustangs on the diamond at on Monday 9-1. The Lady Mustangs fell behind early and couldn’t mount a comeback as they were limited to just four hits in the game.

The Madisonville High School fishing team, consisting of freshmen Colby McVey and Hayden Hurst, concluded their season eighth in their division and earned a trip to the Regional Tournament at Lake Palestine Saturday. The team, coached by Michael Lawless, accomplished this feat in their first season in existence.

The North Zulch track team competed in the Area Meet last week and will send a number of athletes to the Regional Meet in League City April 23-24. The Madisonville baseball team improved to 2-1 in district play with another complete game, shutout performance by pitcher Rayce Hudson in a 13-0 win over Connally in Waco Friday. The Mustangs returned to MHS to host Mexia Tuesday and will travel to La Vega to conclude their first round of district Friday.
