BLM announces new opportunity for partnerships with wild horses, burros

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced new grants available to public and private partners to help support the agency’s mission to manage and protect wild horses and burros. The funding opportunity is open to local and state governments, tribes, other federal agencies and non-profit organizations.

That is why Naveed Anwar Sunny, who owns Sunny Food Mart and other businesses in town, is looking to petition for a liquor store in Madisonville.

Midway’s 2022 Summer Reading Club came to a close as the beginning of the school season kicks off. The City has maintained this reading initiative program for students of the community for the last five years. This year, nine students, from Kindergarten to High School, participated and a reading a total of 68 books. Top readers were Michelle and Emily Penaloza.

DPS Offers Tips and Resources Ahead of New School Year

Special to the Meteor As the new school year nears, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reminds drivers to use extra caution in and around school zones and neighborhoods. This includes knowing the Texas laws about driving near stopped school buses and not using cell phones when you’re behind the wheel.
