Local Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Officer Juan Tovar was shot Thursday while pursuing the suspect of Thursday’s mass shooting in Bryan earlier that day and, according to the most recent update from the DPS, remains in serious but stable condition at St. Joseph Health Hospital.

The Madisonville CISD board approved a resolution that would increase pay stipends for employees working certain extracurricular activities, including driving busses to events, at their monthly meeting for April Monday.
The vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday at Madisonville CISD was canceled due to the CDC and FDA recommending a pause on Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines. The pause came as a result of an investigation involving six cases of dangerous blood clots out of the over 6.8 million doses administered thus far in the United States.
