Madisonville Elementary School will accept new student enrollment throughout the summer and into August. The school office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.
The Madisonville City Council will consider raising water rates when they meet again in August following a work session discussion Monday night at City Hall. City Manager Fabrice Kabona proposed a 7.1% increase for residential customers living within city limits.

A man facing multiple charges including aggravated robbery was arrested on Thursday, July 10, after attempting to flee from officers on North Madison Street. Kendrick Alexander Kishun Davis, who had been wanted since July 5 for aggravated robbery with a handgun, was taken into custody in the 700 block of North Madison Street.
Riley Farris drew from personal tragedy to deliver a speech that helped elect her as the first Madisonville FFA member to serve as Texas state president. The Madisonville High School valedictorian, who graduated in May, will lead 187,000 FFA members across more than 1,100 chapters during the 2025-2026 school year after her July 4 election at the 97th Annual State FFA Convention in Fort Worth.
Sweet Magnolia Learning Center enjoyed their field trip to Rainbow Roller Rink on July 11. Students and staff had a grand time and were very thankful to Rainbow Roller Rink for a fun time.
