A Madison County jury found Philip Carter guilty Thursday, May 1, after a trial that began April 3 at the Madison County Courthouse. The jury delivered its verdict in the 278th District Court with Judge Tracy Sorenson presiding.

Lake Madison Park will once again host the Mudbug & Music Festival Saturday, May 10, marking the third year for the community celebration that brings together crawfish, music and family fun. The free event will run from noon to 6 p.m.

A run-off election will decide two contested City Council seats after candidates in Places 3 and 5 failed to secure the required majority vote in the May election. Madisonville City Manager Fabrice Kabona said the election will be held Saturday, June 7, with early voting running May 27-30 and June 2-3.
