Public’s help sought in animal cruelty cases

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office seeks information about two animal cruelty investigations involving dead dogs found in separate locations. a On Wednesday, Feb. 26, two deceased dogs were discovered discarded in trash bags bound by orange baling twine along Burns Road in Midway. The dogs — an adult male chocolate lab and a young adult male shepherd mix — had apparent gunshot wounds to their abdomens and chests consistent with buckshot, according to authorities. Neither dog was microchipped or wore a collar.
