Demita Nannette Sweet was born July 13, 1964, in Madisonville, Texas, to the union of the late Eddie L. Mason, Sr. and Gladys M. Spivey Mason. Her formative years were spent in the Madisonville Community, where she gave her life to Christ at a very early age. She was a faithful and active member of the Lakeview Baptist Church until she moved to Houston, Texas, where she attended Brookhollow Baptist Church.

Mary Jane (Powell) Andrews; 86 of Madisonville, TX; passed away at her home on Monday; July 19, 2021. Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday; July 22, 2021, at The First Baptist Church in Madisonville, TX with Bro. Charles Higgs officiating. There was a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. and the burial followed the service at Madisonville Cemetery.

Tommy Hoyt of Austin, Texas passed away on July 11 at the age of 48. Tommy was born on April 21, 1973, in Houston, Texas to Paul on Judy Hoyt of Madisonville, Texas. He married Teri Grona Hoyt on January 18, 1997, in Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas.

May 6, 1967 – June 26, 2021 Kris Denise Raspberry, 54, passed away on June 26, 2021, in Herndon, VA. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Ricky James McCormick, 49, of Madisonville, Texas passed peacefully at home on July 10, 2021. Mostly known as Kennel Sergeant for Texas Department of Criminal Justice Ferguson Unit (BigMac, BiggKountry), he was born to Billy Gene McCormick and Smantha Luttrell. Ricky was married to the love of his life, Michelle (ShortyMac). He was a loving father and cherished every moment spent with his family. He loved spending time training the dogs, hunting, fishing and anything done with family and friends.

Louis Addison Curtis I, born November 15,1950 in Galena Park, Texas, entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. Louis, a loving father, PawPaw, brother, and coach, among many roles, spent his years providing for his family working primarily as a machinist in the oil field industry.

Danny Eugene Kirby, Sr.; 64; of Normangee, TX; passed away on Sunday; July 4, 2021, in Bryan, TX. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday; July 11, 2021 at The First Baptist Church in Normangee, TX. Bro. Larry Grimes officiated. The burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee, TX.

Jon Lang Shannon, resident of Normangee, Texas, took his last breath on this earth and entered heaven on July, 8, 2021, at age 82. Jon was filled to the brim with grit and an unwavering faith in God and died living out 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
