I know a lot of you like it better when Daylight Saving Time puts more daylight hours at the start of the day. I can appreciate that.

When you speak with Madison County Judge Tony Leago, it is apparent that he takes pride in the fact that he and his staff don’t shy away from challenges. Now, as he reflects on his first term as Judge and prepares for a reelection campaign, a new and unexpected challenge has presented itself.

Madisonville’s Girl Scout Troop #9504 did their part in spreading holiday cheer this week by delivering boxes of goods to local nursing homes, which included socks, word searches, cross word puzzles, candy, pens and pencils and lotions. Matthew F. Jarrett, the suspect wanted for burglarizing the North Zulch Post Office as well as other post offices in multiple counties, was apprehended by law enforcement last week after a high-speed chase that spanned two counties and concluded with him crashing a stolen vehicle in Bryan.
