The Madisonville Youth Football League concluded their most successful overall season in recent memory Saturday with three of their teams competing in Super Bowls in Groesbeck and two walking away with rings. Everyone in the organization, however, from the cheerleaders to the players on all teams, will walk away with bountiful memories to cherish.

AUSTIN – Texas 10 Most Wanted Featured Fugitive Charles Lee Tillman Jr., of Missouri City, is back in custody following his arrest on Nov. 9. Members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Special Agents, arrested Tillman at a house in Killeen. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid in his arrest.

It’s time for Thanksgiving, a day to visit the relatives and stuff ourselves with turkey and dressing, not to mention those wonderful homemade pies. Did you know turkey day began in 1863? Yep.

‘Blues Brews & BBQ’, a fundraiser benefiting Madison County Crimestoppers, was held at the American Legion Post 84 grounds in Madisonville Friday and Saturday. Attendees were treated to BBQ categories such as chicken, ribs and brisket as well as margaritas and Bloody Marys to wash it all down.

Madisonville CISD’s Mustang Band held their 5th Annual Market Day at the Truman Kimbro Convention Center on the Square in Madisonville Saturday.
