The Midway City Council voted on Monday, July 28, to raise trash fees from $17 to $18.25 per month starting Sept. 1.

Students from Sweet Magnolia Learning Center and staff presented a $682 check to the Hearts and Hands Family Care Center after their successful Lemonade Stand fundraiser on Wednesday, July 23.

A state district judge denied Philip Cameron Carter's request for a new trial Monday. Judge Tracy Sorensen of the 278th District Court issued her ruling July 14, six days after hearing arguments in Philip Cameron Carter’s case.

Students in Madison County will have a chance to get free school supplies and learn about health services during a community event next week. The annual Back to School Health & Safety Day will take place on Thursday, Aug.
