While most people believe their children are properly buckled up, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration points out that 46% of all car seats are misused. A former Madisonville resident who served as commander of Austin Reed American Legion Post 84 will be posthumously honored at a national memorial in Washington D.C. on June 14 for Vietnam veterans who died from service-related illnesses.
MCISD Welcomes New Trustees

The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees welcomed four members and reorganized its leadership during the Monday, June 9 meeting at the Administration Board Room. Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Miranda Butts administered the oath of office to Quincy Allen, Randi Pipes, Jason Cleere and Dale Hurst after all four ran unopposed for their positions.
