Madisonville High School, class of 2020, graduate Madilynn Caperton, won the Texas Girls Coaches Association 1A–4A Sub–Varsity Coach of the Year Award for 2024-2025. She was a standout track athlete for MHS. Coach Caperton is the girl’s junior varsity track coach for Navasota High School in Navasota. She was presented the award at the TGCA Summer Clinic in Arlington July 14. She is pictured with Lady Rattler head girl’s track coach Jersey Gates.
The Midway Summer Reading program students learned about fire safety from Smokey Bear, Texas A&M Forest Service personnel and Midway volunteer firefight ers on Friday, July 18 at Midway City Hall and the Fire Department. The children toured the station and learned about firefighting equipment during the event.

Veterans from Madison County participated in the Midway Summer Reading program, where they read books to children and taught them military traditions. Members of the World Changers mission vacation Bible school gather for photos after completing landscaping work at Rita's Playschool in Madisonville last week. The volunteers, led by Madisonville native Zack Schroeder, who attended the daycare as a child, spent time cutting limbs, raking leaves, mowing, and working on flower beds despite stormy weather, Schroeder, who says his call to ministry began at Rita's brought the group to his hometown as part of their mission work.
