Republican Party hosts Reagan Dinner

Numerous citizens and elected officials gathered at the Madisonville Sidewalk Cattleman’s Association Pavilion Saturday for the Second Annual Madison County Republican Party ‘Reagan Dinner’. The event’s keynote speaker was former U.S. Representative for Utah and current Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz.

Early voting for the May 1 election began Monday (April 19) and will be available through Friday and again on Monday (April 26) and Tuesday (April 27). Early voting locations include Madisonville CISD (until 4 p.m.), City Hall (from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Friday and from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the 26th and 27th) or North Zulch ISD. On election day, May 1, you may vote at North Zulch ISD, City Hall, the City of Midway and Bedias Community Center from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. For school board, citizens can only vote for one candidate at each position. For city council, citizens may vote for up to three candidates and no more. If you select more than three, no selection will be counted.

MADISONVILLE CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES

Six candidates are vying for three open spots on the Madisonville City Council. Longtime staples Lois Brown and Russell Bailey have decided not to seek reelection, leaving a pair of open seats for the hopeful candidates along with another currently held by incumbent Chris McGilbra, who is hoping to retain his spot. Running alongside McGilbra are Auburn Rose, Randy Walker, Brandon Hutsen, Melissa Hinojosa and Terri Brown Davis.
