Round-the-clock roadwork began to complete the intersection of FM 39 and OSR from 1st Street to Hall Street in Normangee Monday and was expected to take five days to complete at the onset of the project, according to a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) press release.

The Madisonville Cemetery Association will hold its Annual Membership Meeting Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Madisonville Cemetery near the Information Center, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be moved to the Truman Kimbro Convention Center.

The restaurant portion of the Woodbine Hotel and Restaurant in Madisonville will reopen to the public for its Easter brunch buffet Sunday and resume normal operations Tuesday after being closed for nearly a year during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reopening comes with a rejuvenated menu including a new slate of dishes for locals to enjoy.
