Carter Gets 40 Years

A Madison County Jury sentenced Philip Cameron Carter (43) to 40 years in prison on Wednesday, May 7, for solicitation of capital murder after a six-week jury trial which began at the end of March. The same jury also sentenced Carter to three years for deadly conduct, nine years for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, seven years for continuous family violence, four years for repeated bond violations, two years for retaliation, and 180 days in state jail with a $10,000 fine for criminal mischief.

Pink Flamingos on Parade in Madison County

Pink plastic flamingos will soon appear in yards across Madison County as part of a creative fundraiser to support local children in protective care. The Madison County Child Protective Services Board has launched its “Flamingo Flocking” campaign, inviting residents to donate money to have a flock of bright pink flamingos temporarily placed in a friend’s yard.
