The Madison County Commissioner’s Court approved a proclamation recognizing Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week in Madison County. This movement was led by the Captain John McAdams Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The official proclamation, read and signed by Madison County Judge Tony Leago, reads as follows:

The new-look Madisonville and North Zulch volleyball teams took the court for their first action of the season last week. The Madisonville football team competed in their first scrimmage of the season with Palestine and Hallsville in Palestine last week. The Mustangs will travel to Cameron Thursday for their final scrimmage before their Aug. 27 opener against Diboll at MHS.

Bobby Ray Crouch; 82 years of Bedias, TX; passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Bryan, TX. A graveside service was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at Bedias Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, TX and Jerry Allen Cole officiated. The visitation was scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2021 at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX from 5-7 p.m.

Annette (Hetzel) Karber, our dear beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday; August 12, 2021 at her home in Bedias, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday; August 14, 2021 at Bedias Baptist Church in Bedias, TX with Bro. Nathan Hoke officiating. The burial will follow the service at Bedias Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, TX. The visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX.

J.C. Jeffries, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home August 7, 2021.

After a successful junior college career, Maci Sanders weighed multiple offers to play softball. Although programs in Oklahoma and Kansas showed interest, the Normangee High School graduate opted to play for Midwestern State University.
