Members of the North Zulch ISD wool judging team were named High Point Overall Team at the Houston Rodeo Wool Judging Contest held Monday, March 16. Team members included Brayden S., who placed 1st individually, 1st in grading and 3rd in placing; Katie W., 3rd individual, 4th in placing and 4th in grading; Jade S., 13th in placing; Kasen P.; Kelby C., 7th in grading; and Madi M., 2nd in reasons.

Madison County launches app to put county services in residents’ hands

Madison County has released a free smartphone app that puts everything from burn ban alerts to inmate searches to dump station maps in one place. The app, available in the App Store and Google Play by searching “Madison County TX,” covers more than a dozen county departments and services.

Cody Johnson draws 80,203, tops George Strait’s mark for NRG Stadium attendance title HOUSTON — Country music star and Madison County rancher Cody Johnson broke the all-time NRG Stadium attendance record Sunday, March 22, drawing 80,203 paid fans to the final performance of the 94th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The crowd topped George Strait’s mark set in 2019 by just 95 fans.

Sexual Assault Resource Center offers county free counseling and advocacy A sexual assault survivor in Madison County who calls for help will likely end up at a hospital in College Station, backed by a team of area specialists. Baylor Scott & White on Rock Prairie is the only facility across seven counties with forensic nurses trained to conduct sexual assault exams, according to Alicia Rice, Sexual Assault Resource Center director of advocacy.
