City Council adopted rules May 11 setting limits on how long recreational vehicles can stay in residential areas, though one official warned the change could worsen Madisonville’s code enforcement workload. Madisonville police arrested a man on a first-degree felony charge after a woman was shot at a West Collard Street home early Thursday, reports said. According to the Madisonville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the residence just before 1 a.m.

City Council voted last week to push Madisonville’s general elections back to November, a change officials said could help raise voter turnout and cut costs. The council approved May 11 shifting the general election for council members from the May uniform election date to the November uniform election date in odd-numbered years.
